CMS Musicians Included in Division Concert

Choral Participants in the ILMEA Concert.On a Saturday afternoon early in November, 14 Central Middle School students took the stage at Lincoln-Way Central High School to participate in the Illinois Music Education Association Junior Division Band, Orchestra and Chorus Festival.

“The festival involved students selected from more than 60 schools throughout the southwestern Chicago area,” said Jason Freeland, CMS Band Director. “The 14 CMS students who participated represented our community with much distinction and deserve our congratulations for this high honor.”

Students who participated, including those from CMS, auditioned to be a part of the groups. Appearing in concert was the 150-member festival band, the 100-piece festival orchestra, and the festival chorus numbering over 150 voices. 

Central band students selected to participate were Giana Aiello, Kaylean Ashie, Megan Cantor, Charlie Desnoyers, Alex James, AJ Le, John Marusarz, Elena Miller, Jessica Noga, Kyle Tabay and Lulu Juma. The choral students selected were Megan Robinson, Jenna Skanberg and Grace Snoddy.
