Dean of Students

Kristen Salwierak, Dean of Students

Mrs. Salwierak became the Central Middle School Dean of Students in 2016. She joined the District 146 team in 2006 as a paraprofessional at Memorial before moving to CMS as a science and social studies teacher in 2007. Mrs. Salwierak completed her undergraduate studies at Governors State University and her graduate studies at Concordia University.

Here is what Mrs. Salwierak has to say…

about her job:
I love being able to work with staff while being so involved with students from all three grade levels. I spend the majority of my day listening to and talking with our students. I believe every situation a student goes through is unique to that individual. By getting to know each student I work with, I can help support him or her while promoting positive behavior.

about her goals:

  • My goals for CMS and its students are to:
  • Proactively construct a positive student culture that teaches self-accountability.
  • Inspire others to love learning while promoting positive decision-making skills.
  • Ensure every interaction is a teachable moment.

Continually communicate and collaborate with students, staff, and parents to help support the needs of our students.

about herself:
I love spending time with my husband Jonathan, and my five-year-old twins Tristan and Isabella. I like listening to music while being active outdoors during the summer. I also love traveling. I find it inspirational and view it as an opportunity to experience various cultures while learning people’s perspectives and making everlasting memories along the way.
