Principal

Principal Randy Fortin

Mr. Fortin joined the District 146 family in 2012 when he became Principal at Central Middle School. He studied at Eastern Illinois University and completed his graduate work at Governors State University.

Here is what Mr. Fortin has to say…

about his job:
As Principal, I have the ability to be influenced by and influence others every single day. This fills my heart. I am truly blessed to be in a position to improve myself and others.

In education, we have the ability to influence the two most important things to community members: their children and their money. I take a great deal of pride in to ensure we are providing the best educational experience possible while offering the richest experience we can.

about his goals:
When it comes to working at CMS, I will:

  • Base every decision we make on what is best for students.
  • Help support and implement a shared vision, mission, and values at Central.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Communicate with and involve parents in the decision-making process to support students.
  • Empower staff to take control of their own learning and development while removing any obstacles that may prevent the focus from being on the students.
  • Promote a school culture that takes risks in an effort to improve student achievement.
  • Make it a priority to get into classrooms to observe. I will learn by listening and interacting with students and staff.

about himself:
I am a father of three boys, Carter, Beckett, and Decker. I can typically be found losing myself in a good book, at a golf course, or watching a Notre Dame game. I love watching and participating in athletic activities.
